William Richert writes and directs this satirical thriller based on the novel by Richard Condon. 19 years after his half-brother, the President of the United States, was assassinated, Nick Kegan (Jeff Bridges) is working in the China Seas as part of his tycoon father (John Huston)'s oil drilling operation. When Nick receives a clue as to the real assassin's identity from a dying man, he sets out to investigate a conspiracy which leads back to his own father.
