Sam Harper was a sadistic, unloved man in his small hometown, whose death in the Gulf War makes him a hero figure for his nephew Jody. When Sam's body is shipped home for Independence Day celebrations, bad memories are stirred up in the community. Sam escapes from his coffin and, disguised as American Uncle Sam, begins a reign of terror, killing anyone who does not conform to his twisted concept of the American Dream. Jody begins to realise the truth about his uncle as the body count mounts - he could be the next victim himself.
