In the 2060s, Jeff Tracy (voice of Peter Dyneley) and his five sons are members of International Rescue, a secret organisation which uses technologically advanced vehicles called Thunderbirds to save lives, thwart criminals and avert disasters. In 'Trapped in the Sky', when a hypersonic airliner is sabotaged, International Rescue race to save the passengers and crew. Meanwhile, in 'Terror in New York City', an attempt to relocate the Empire State Building goes badly wrong and the building collapses. International Rescue must find a way to save two men trapped in the wreckage.
