Richard Rush directs this thriller based on the novel by Paul Brodeur. Vietnam veteran Cameron (Steve Railsback) is on the run from the police. Looking for a place to hide, he seeks out a film set due to his striking resemblance to the lead actor and disguises himself as his stunt double. While bending to every demand from the director Eli Cross (Peter O'Toole), Cameron soon finds his idea of reality beginning to blur.
