Blair Maynard (Michael Caine) is a journalist sent to a Caribbean island to investigate the disappearance of a pleasure cruiser and its crew. What he discovers is a time warp, which allows a seventeenth century pirate ship to maraud around the local waters. Before he can escape the pirate's clutches, Blair's young son is captured, and turned against his father.
