Pasquale Squitieri directs this Italian drama based on true events. In 1925, Cesare Mori (Giuliano Gemma), known in Italy as the Iron Prefect, is sent to Palermo by Mussolini to tackle the Sicilian mafia. Granted special privileges, Mori is able to utilise force to round up even the most hardened of criminals, fearlessly waging war against the mafia at all levels. The cast also includes Claudia Cardinale, Stefano Satta Flores and Francisco Rabal.
