Darren Hill (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) is an advertising executive in New York City, who returns to his hometown in Georgia to claim an inheritance from his aunt. Before he can claim the money, however, he must fulfil his aunt's final wish; to create an award-winning local choir. With the help of his cousin Lucius (Mike Epps), Darren scours the town for the best singers and discovers that beautiful single mum Lilly (Beyoncé Knowles) could be the answer to his prayers.
