All four episodes of the British drama based on the novel by Michel Faber which follows the attempts of a young woman to improve her social standing and escape the poverty that threatens to destroy her. Young, quick-witted prostitute Sugar (Romola Garai) yearns to leave her current life behind and reinvent herself. When she meets William Rackham (Chris O'Dowd), the unwilling heir to a perfume empire, she thinks she has found her way out and agrees to become his mistress. However, as she grows closer to William's fragile wife Agnes (Amanda Hale) and their daughter Sophie (Isla Watt), her plans change.
