Adaptation of the classic children's novel by Walter Farley, directed by Carroll Ballard. After a shipwreck, Alec (Kelly Reno) is stranded on a desert island with a wild Arabian stallion. During their solitude the pair form a close bond in order to survive and are eventually rescued. Back home in America, Alec befriends former horse trainer Henry Dailey (Mickey Rooney) who agrees to train Alec as a jockey and enter the stallion into one of the most competitive horse races in the country.
