Documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield travels to Alaska to get the lowdown on the former Republican vice-presidential candidate from those who really know her. After receiving a positive response to his request for an interview with the Tea Party figurehead, Broomfield sets off for Alaska to interview the former state governor, only to find his target becoming ever more elusive. Deciding to change tack and interview those who know her first hand, the resulting anecdotes gained from friends, colleagues, neighbours, employees, relatives, and mentors build to form an illuminating, and decidedly negative, picture of the religiously driven 'hockey mom'.
