Andy Lau and Alex Man star in this double bill of Hong Kong crime action dramas directed by Taylor Wong. In 'Rich and Famous' (1987), when Kwok (Lau)'s adoptive brother Yung (Man) runs up a gambling debt that he cannot pay, the two men find themselves sinking deeper into the criminal underworld where they meet gangster Li Ah Chai (Chow Yun-Fat), who helps them out. They join his gang but Yung's ambition is dangerous and soon threatens them all. In the sequel 'Tragic Hero' (1987), Yung is now a vicious crime boss who is coming after Li Ah Chai, uncaring of who might get caught in the crossfire. When both Kwok and Li Ah Chai's families are killed, the men swear revenge against Yung, setting all three on a path to a final, violent showdown that they cannot all survive.
