Spanish-language drama directed by Laurent Cantet about a reunion of old friends in Havana. Amadeo (Néstor Jiménez) is a novelist who has been suffering from a bout of writer's block and is returning to Havana after living 16 years in exile. He is soon reunited with a group of friends who share the stories of how their lives are unfolding. Tania (Isabel Santos) is an eye doctor but despite this only barely makes her way financially; Rafa (Fernando Hechavarria) used to be a prominent artist but has succumbed to alcoholism; Aldo (Pedro Julio Díaz Ferran) is a trained engineer but finds himself merely mounting batteries in a factory; and Eddy (Jorge Perugorría) has transformed from bohemian book lover to a man of jumped-up wealth and status. Throughout their reunion they sing, laugh and dance together while sharing memories of their youth and dreams for their future.
