Thriller from director John Dahl. Michael Williams (Nicolas Cage) is a broke ex-marine who drifts into the little town of Red Rock West after failing to get a job on an oil rig. He stops off at a bar, where the owner mistakes him for a hitman he has hired to kill his wife Suzanne (Lara Flynn Boyle). Opportunistically, Michael takes the money and goes to see the wife. However, she seduces him and offers him double the money to turn the tables. Michael takes the money and runs, but his luck turns when he hitches a ride with the wrong man...
