Melvyn Douglas and Patricia Gozzi star in this coming-of-age drama from director John Guillermin. Agnes (Gozzi) lives a lonely, sheltered life on the family farm in Brittany with her father Frederick (Douglas). When fugitive Joseph (Dean Stockwell) shows up at the farm seeking refuge, he quickly forms a special bond with young Agnes. As Frederick expresses his disapproval of the match, Joseph tries to convince Agnes that all of her troubles would disappear if she just ran away from her overbearing father.
