Drama directed and co-written by Ida Lupino. Ann Walton (Mala Powers) is happy and in love but after working late one night, she is attacked and raped. Though the police, her parents and her fiancé Jim (Robert Clarke) are supportive, she struggles to cope in the aftermath and runs away. She thinks she has found some peace with the help of Reverend Bruce Ferguson (Tod Andrews), but memories of what happened continue to haunt her and she ends up in trouble with the law.
