Ealing Studios drama following the love lives of a group of factory workers in post-war London. Escaping the drudgery of their day jobs, Eve (Natasha Parry), Georgie (Petula Clark), Mary (Jane Hylton) and Carole (Diana Dors) live for their Saturday nights dancing at the local palais. As they look forward to the upcoming amateur dancing championships, free-spirited Eve, married to dull Welshman Phil (Donald Houston), throws her marriage into turmoil when she decides to dance with a new partner, the flash American man-about-town Alec (Bonar Colleano).
