Double bill of British comedies. In 'St Martin's Lane' (1938) Vivien Leigh stars as young London pickpocket Libby, whose talent as a dancer is spotted by street performer Charles (Charles Laughton). Libby's graceful moves are soon drawing an ever-increasing audience to Charles's dramatic act, and it isn't long before the duo catch the eye of theatre patron Harley (Rex Harrison). The pair are invited to a post-play party, and when Libby turns up alone her career takes off - leaving Charles and the other buskers to struggle on in the cold London streets while she enjoys a life in the limelight. In 'Talk About Jacqueline' (1942) sisters Jacqueline and June (Carla Lehmann and Joyce Howard) have lived very separate and different lives but remain close and protective of each other. When Jacqueline moves to the French Riviera in search of a new life, she soon meets the man of her dreams in the form of Dr Michael Thomas (Hugh Williams). However, when rumours surface about Jacqueline's free-spirited past, June steps in to take the heat of the scandal despite the cost to her own reputation.
