John Milius co-writes and directs this cult coming-of-age drama following the lives of three young California surfers during the 1960s and '70s. Friends Matt Johnson (Jan-Michael Vincent), Jack Barlow (William Katt) and Leroy Smith (Gary Busey) share a passion for surfing, living carefree lives in Malibu until their idyllic youth is cruelly interrupted by the Vietnam War. Despite being torn apart, the three friends reunite years later to conquer the epic swell they have waited a decade for.
