Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek star in this drama written and directed by Terrence Malick. 15-year-old Holly Sargis (Spacek) is living in a small town in South Dakota with her father when she meets garbage collector Kit Carruthers (Sheen) who is ten years her senior. As romance blossoms between them, Kit kills Holly's father when he disapproves of their relationship. Together they embark on a brutal crime spree across the American Midwest leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake.
