Yimou Zhang directs this foreign drama which follows a lookalike warrior who imitates a former Commander while he recovers from serious injuries gained in a duel. Jingzhou (Deng Chao), the impersonator, begins to struggle with his conscience as he is trained to become the deadly warrior intended to pose as Ziyu (Chao) and help overthrow the Pei kingdom that stripped Ziyu of his status and title.
