Adventure drama set in the War of 1812. Captain James Marshall (Mark Stevens) is sent to obtain a war loan from France and enlists Ben Waldridge (Patric Knowles) as his first mate. Waldridge's old gun crew also join the ship and scheme to overthrow the captain once they have the loan and take the gold for themselves. Waldridge's former girlfriend Leslie (Angela Lansbury) appears, hoping to acquire some of the gold, but with whom do the first mate's loyalties lie?
